GADA Attends USP Convention Meeting
May 2025 - Courtney Arumugam, GADA Officer and Chair of its Industry Stakeholder Relations Subgroup, joined hundreds of representatives across health and science at the USP Convention Meeting May 5-8. Critical dialogue led to elections of the Board of Trustees and Council of Experts, and adoption of Resolutions for USP’s next five-year cycle and beyond. Arumugam represents GADA, a Voting Member of the USP Convention, to advance the interests of the generic animal drug industry and advocate for a veterinary drug-focused body within USP.

FDA Reorganizes Animal Drug Evaluation Structure to Better Align Innovative Products, Generic Drugs
September 26, 2024 – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is reorganizing the Office of New Animal Drug Evaluation (ONADE), within the Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) into two separate offices that will handle pre-market evaluation of originator animal products and generic drugs. The reorganization will enable ONAPE to continue to build capacity to support review of new and innovative technologies, while unprecedented growth in the generic animal drug review program over the past 8-10 years has led to standing up OGAD as an independent office, to provide for concentrated focus for the generic animal drug program and maximize the program’s effectiveness.
